Gallows Corner is a new alternate historical TTRPG system that challenges players to do one thing: change England by any means necessary.

Players take on the role of the lowest in medieval society — peasants and the working classes — and pit themselves against crown, nobility, and church in a struggle for the soul of post-plague England.

A rules-light, narrative-first system, Gallows Corner empowers players to challenge the powerful, the greedy, the tyrannical and build a new version of England.

With its Trades and Jobs system — featuring 8 Trades and 48 Jobs to choose from — characters in Gallows Corner are what they do. Use the tools of your trade to fight injustice and remake England as you see fit.

DICE POOL SYSTEM
Each player character has three Experience dice: Physical, Emotional, and Intellectual. Roll whichever dice is relevant to the current situation as part of our simple and intuitive resolution system. All you need is a single success, so more dice means a greater chance of victory.

TRADES AND JOBS
Each character has a Trade, and chooses a Job from within that Trade. Trades and Jobs add more dice to your Dice Pool, increasing your chances of success when a Test is related to your Trade or Job.

RETINUE SYSTEM
Gallows Corner does away with traditional ‘levelling up’ systems. In its place, gather followers and recruit them to your Retinue. Retainers grant you opportunities to approach challenges in a variety of ways, have their own skills and backgrounds, and grant extra dice in combat. And, when the time comes, choose whether to let your character die and replace them with a Retainer, or let a Retainer take the killing blow in your place!

Explore every corner of England and take the fight to the crown wherever you may be. Travel seamlessly between towns, villages, and counties in a world that adapts itself to your actions. Wrestle control away from the crown and help shape the places that you liberate.

VISUAL COMBAT SYSTEM
Our simple combat resolution system is visual. Using diamond shapes, easily see the status of your character, your retainers, and your enemies. Quick, simple, and easy to learn.
