Mappa Mundi: Islands and Oceans is a 100-page, Royal-size, fully illustrated hardback book, delivered in a lidded box and accompanied by thirteen new Journey and Monster cards to facilitate your exploration.

The Islands and Oceans expansion book will feature:

  • Four New Regions that range from the Eirtain Archipelago, a short but dangerous voyage from the western shores of Evasu (featured in Mappa Mundi - An Exploration + Ecology RPG); Madarisha, a sub-tropical haven in the oceans west of Garugoma; Hokulehu, a chain of volcanic islands isolated in the great ocean east of Evasu; and The Salt Road, a community of sailors, researchers, and settlers who call the Western Ocean home.

  • Four New Monsters and Twelve New Creatures, from the wrathful Oilliphéist and the majestic Cetae to the protective Dodo and the sing-song calls of the ‘Elepaio. Each new Region is home to its own unique Monster and three Creatures, all waiting to be observed.

  • A new Licence, the Mariner, hardy sailors, explorers, and navigators trained by the Mappa Mundi Institute to traverse the great blue floods that divide the continents of Ecumene.

  • Rules for Weather and Vessels. After all, attempting to cross the oceans is no walk in the park. Your ship must be study and your heart prepared for whatever the elements can throw at you.

  • Thirteen new Journey Cards, offering up chances to explore Coral Reefs, Seagrass Meadows, Volcanoes, and isolated Atolls.

Mappa Mundi - An Exploration + Ecology RPG is new TTRPG system that provides players a world to explore and the tools they need to do so. Taking on the role of Chroniclers — everyday people trained by the Mappa Mundi Institute — players set out to reconnect a world recovering from a century of ecological catastrophe.

Using a zero-combat system, Mappa Mundi asks players one simple question: How do you save a world without doing any harm?

With rules-light, narrative-first gameplay that prioritises collaborative storytelling, gives creative control over to players to shape the world they want to see, and that recognises the agency of non-human persons and the environment, Mappa Mundi is a love letter to worldbuilding.
